The plate is purpose-built for the dispensary shelf environment — compact enough to sit under a standard display jar, durable enough for daily use, and low-power enough to run indefinitely on a standard phone charger.

The firmware includes jar-off-plate handling — if weight drops to near zero, the system holds the last known good weight for 90 seconds before reporting empty. Short dip means a budtender is serving. Long zero means actually empty.
